It's choose your poison: the gun violence might change someday but eliminated trees will be gone forever.

Ahh, but here you are wrong. Trees can be and have been replanted, but lost lives never come back!

We... feel extreme anger that reports of flight resumption came before an explanation to locals," Okinawa Governor Denny Tamaki told reporters Wednesday.

Blame your own government! The US military did due diligence in notifying the Japan defense ministry about the continuation of flight operations.

It is their responsibility to notify the Okinawan authorities.

"We continue to demand the US military and the Japanese government not resume flights until they make clear the accident's cause and countermeasures, and remove Ospreys" from Okinawa, he said.

Not resume flights until the cause and countermeasures are clear AND they are removed. lol!

In English, Quashed also means erased in a legal means. Once it is quashed it is as though it never happened.

In English the word "quashed" means suppressed as well, in legal terms, and it is more commonly accepted than erased. For your benefit, here are examples, commonly used.

"She has quashed the efforts of municipalities to raise their own minimum wage".

"The riot was quashed by police".

"The couple quashed rumors that they were engaged".

"The Appeal Court has quashed the convictions of all eleven people

None of these imply "as though it never happened", but suppressed!

Posted in: Wronged UK postmasters to have convictions quashed See in context

Quashed implies suppressed, and due to the monstrous error here suppression is not what needs to be done!

Erasing their prosecutions from existence is the only course of action! These people did nothing wrong and the government owes them along with Fujitsu as well!

also issued a groveling apology for his firm's role in the scandal.

I highly doubt that anyone from Fujitsu was "groveling" , and writing it this way is trying exaggerate and sugar coat the enormity of the wrongs done to these people!

Uhmm no they dont! I personally own a Suzuki Shin-Wagon R Mild Hybrid and the manufacturer installed car navi and audio system includes a TV and it definitely does not stop broadcasting or "showing" while I drive!

I also know of countless other cars, including ALL the cars in the fleet of them, where I work!

In Japan, they also distracted by TV on driver seat. So not only smartphone.

Which is also illegal! All new rentals cars that have TV's installed automatically stop broadcasting when the car starts moving or is in drive.

Accidents are only going to increase, as long as cops stay aware from enforcing the laws.

Our fit and healthy Jack Russel Terrier had his jab in the autumn, he was dead 6 hours later.

Unless you had an autopsy performed on the dog, there is ZERO connection, just assumption and no proof, that it was due to the rabies vaccination.

Also, you dont mention about it being the first time for the vaccination, so it is also safe to assume that he had had the vaccinations for rabies in previous years with no problem!

As noted, it is EXTREMELY rare for a dog to die from the vaccination, and if you even had a slight concern that it was due to the vaccination it should have been reported immediately and the autopsy performed. But you dont mention any of that, so it sounds like you are looking for an excuse and while I am sorry for your loss, I find it hard to accept it was due to the vaccination!

No. They don't. Look at the LDP's support rate. Hardly anyone actually votes for them but the electoral system is so skewed in their favour that it doesn't matter.

Lol. Do you actually even know what you are talking about? In the 2021 Diet elects for the lower house, over 27,000,000 million people voted for the LDP as their constituency, over 10,000,000 more than the Social Democrats.

So by your logic 27,000,000 people's votes are "hardly anyone"?

Koseki Tohron. Record of all the family.

Koseki Shoton. One family member.

Joseki Tohron.

It is called a Koseki Tohon, Koseki Shohon and Joseki Tohon.

There are three Kosekis.

This has absolutely nothing to do with what I was talking to you about the two family registries. This is pure obfuscation and deflection!

There are in fact two, both are legal, but only one is used for the individual in question.

These adopted people are "removed" from one tohon, and placed on another, yet their names do not disappear on the original, they still stay there for eternity. Two tohon's!

But there is only one legal Kosaki. There aren't two.

The original KOSEKI is fully legal, as it is under the family head name, and even though someone is "removed" does not eliminate the legality of the koseki. Their name still exists. It is no longer their koseki, but it is STILL a legal document!

You confuse the differences.

Ok, so the 12 year old had been given that much money, over the years, and his parents didn't know about it, and if they did, just let him control it? Was it in a bank? Did he have the cash in his mattress?

These parents need to do some soul searching here about how they are raising their CHILD.

Posted in: Kishida cabinet support rate hits fresh low at 20% See in context

Am I missing my morning coffee or is that a typo?

No you aren't missing anything and no it isnt a typo either.

The problem is understanding the way politics work here. I actually participated in this poll this time, and they ask a number of questions, but most noticeably is that they as about the PM, simply put, support or dont support, and then the parties, including the LDP. But never ask about my local rep.

So they get a poll number for the PM and the individual parties, like the 24% here

Now the biggest problem is that the electorate sees the problems in the big picture, but they NEVER fail to vote THEIR LDP rep back into office, as "their" rep is not a problem, it's always the other reps that are bringing them down. So until the people start holding their local LDP rep responsible for the bigger picture, the LDP will continue to hold power.

The PM is no elected to the position by the people, but gets put into the office by being elected leader/president of the LDP. If he resigns as leader of the LDP, he would in effect also be resigning as PM, although, and while I am not 100% sure about this, doesnt mean that he cant stay as PM, but wouldnt have support of the party, so they all quit anyway. Like Abe 1.0, he resigned from both.

dropping below what is widely seen as the "danger level" of 30 percent.

The only "danger" until now, had been that the internal factions of the LDP would start rebelling and force the PM to call an election and at the same time step down from the position. The LDP had really no fear of loosing the PM position, so they didnt care much about how the people thought.

Still dont care about the people, and now the LDP internal factions are puling themselves apart due to all the scandals.

But there is still no real fear about loosing the PM position, just a problem of WHO actually wants it AND can do something to bring their proverbial guano together!

New Family new Koseki. She was able to decide to keep her given name or use the name of her husband

Wrong, her husband can not create a tohon, as he is not Japanese. Even if she took his name, she would have have her name changed on the original tohon, then "removed", but not erased.

As per this system, only one Koseki can be created per family.

Before you comment, you really should check how things work. You are dead wrong.

For reasons I will not go into detail about, my daughter, who is under my wife's tohon, had to remove herself from the tohon, and create her own, when she got married to a foreign man.

Right there, there are technically two tohon's in the "family", but the Japanese see it as a separate one, her "own".

Similarly Japanese have the highest adoption rate in the world, but not of children, of mostly men, being "adopted" into a new family upon marriage, to keep this fallacy alive. Taking the "name" of the wife, so the lineage continues. Not necessary if two surnames are allowed,

These adopted people are "removed" from one tohon, and placed on another, yet their names do not disappear on the original, they still stay there for eternity. Two tohon's!

-1 ( +0 / -1 )

Posted in: Six couples file suit seeking separate surnames See in context

This is one law that makes absolutely zero sense to me, because any Japanese married to a foreigner, is not required to take their spouses name, and have the option to keep their own. Hence they have two different surnames.
