Posted in: More than 10 million in Japan have received COVID-19 vaccinations so far See in context

There's a big difference between receiving just one shot versus being fully vaccinated. Still not fooled Japan...

Posted in: Premium melons go for ¥2.7 mil at auction See in context

All produce is ridiculously overpriced here. Last time I went to a supermarket in the U.S. they had mango at 70 cents per pound and huge melons for a couple bucks. You know what?... I'd take affordable GMO fruits and veggies any day over Japanese produce.

With some exceptions, the rest of the world is vaccinating, moving on, and opening up. The world is about to see how inept J-gov is. The world isn't fooled Japan.

Posted in: Most Japanese medical workers still not fully vaccinated See in context

Japan will remain on the travel warning of many countries for a loooong time to come. No in or out. I'm really starting to think Japan wants to regress to the Tokugawa shogunate times.

This is what happens when you put people in charge of things they have no expertise in. The same thing can be seen in schools here as well. You have teachers who can't speak English teaching English or teachers who have no science background teaching science. It's no wonder that the government is messing everything up. They just have no clue.

I bet the situation would have been handled much better if the U.S. took over. We've all seen the results of J-gov's response.

Posted in: Health ministry panel to make decision on Moderna vaccine on May 20 See in context

I went to a doctor yesterday at a major hospital and asked about how to get the vaccine since I'm in the highest risk category. The doctor said he had nada, zero, zilch information about getting the vaccine. A pulmonologist at the biggest hospital in the region had nothing to say!!!! Absolutely mind boggling how slow Japan is.

There's a vaccine center down the street from me. I see almost nobody there. I'm tempted to just walk in and ask for the vaccine already.

Posted in: We are seeing more cases of late-stage cancers than usual, possibly due to a decline in screenings. People should go to the hospital without hesitation if they have any symptoms, and also undergo regular examinations. See in context

It's because you have to push and prod for doctors here to do any kind of test. I've had doctors scoff at me for suggesting to do a sputum culture when I had pneumonia. That test came back with some, let's just say interesting results. It doesn't surprise me that people are living life with undiscovered problems like cancer. Lazy Japanese doctors might actually have to work!
