goddog... you need to get your facts a little more correct. Maybe its like 5% of peoples houses affected in Brisbane. But half of brisbane streets are closed off majority of highways are all closed off in the area. I live in Toowoomba and I can't travel outside of it all highways are closed... Many towns are nearly completely submerged (up to roof level of water) As AdamB said the damage is extremely high... I heard on the news just earlier an estimated damage level as of right now is near $6 billion... The water has hardly dropped yet either so more damage is expected. Next time you should think before making a comment that just shows you don't know anything about it.
