Well of course not. Korea and Germany actually test, aren't ashamed to test, and aren't ashamed to report high infection numbers to the world.

What is the purpose of testing if 99.99999% of the population has no symptoms?

are the 300,000 fellow Tokyoites who have been infected within the past month, included or excluded in your obviously validated statistics?

IMO, anyone who cares must stop buying Chinese goods and lobby their government to isolate China as well. China has activated its currency swap facility to keep Russia running, China has also been letting Russia bypass swift by using its settlement system.

China is now as guilty as Russia in this horrific genocide.

How about India? They abstained in the last UN Security Council vote to condemn Russia’s invasion of Ukraine. Why you may ask?

Perhaps because Russia continues to be India's largest arms supplier? Perhaps because Moscow has vetoed UNSC resolutions over disputed Kashmir in the past to help India keep it a bilateral issue?

The kid would have been admitted even if he had flunked the exams. Heck, Harvard or Yale would probably admit him in a few years even if he’s not qualified just because of his title.

well that’s how US President George W Bush got into Yale…legacy entitlement, especially if you consider that he ended up with a C+ overall academic average. Finally, how do you think he also got his Harvard MBA?

It's a school entrance exam. The news would be if he didn't pass.

Other countries have seen between a 60-90% decline in their 7 day averages within 3-4 weeks from their peak. Japan cases peaked between Jan 30-Feb 4.

I believe that may be a bit of an over generalization, as said other countries include those in which 3rd jab boosters have been widely implemented. Japan is at last report unfortunately only at 11%..

Hmm, with only 11% of the total population being boosted and current output at Jgov vax sites in Tokyo is 5000/day, Tokyo with a population of 14 million, means that Omi will become endemic in how many days? Weeks? Years?

The Tokyo Metropolitan Government will ask coronavirus patients who are aged under 50 and isolated at home with no or mild symptoms to self-monitor their conditions, starting next Monday...40,000 patients were self-isolated at home in Tokyo as of Wednesday. They say the number could rise to 193,000, if daily cases in Tokyo continue hovering around 20,000 for another 10 days.

Of course this LDP policy will lead to zero "community transmission", eh?

It'd be nice to see more testing to be honest. Give an honest reflection so professionals can act accordingly.

What is the testing capacity in Tokyo? 20,000?

Any testing capacity this low will not provide an accurate record of the true infected number. As a comparison, the state of California with a total population 3-4x that of Tokyo, is doing over 2 million tests/day in order to know what’s really going on.

@paul

The supposed death in Texas, they haven’t even answered whether he had one vaccine or no vaccine. Remember Paul the term unvaccinated has changed.

It was reported a few days ago that the patient previously had a different covid infection, and that he was never vaccinated, and why are you claiming that it was a “supposed” death? Baseless statements are not helpful, but if that’s your way to live life, then carry on.

I've said this before, but they should have put the Yakuza in charge of vaccinations from the get-go. They get stuff done in this country.

I was just about to make a similar comment. Just like how the Yakuza saved Kobe after the quake, now they're getting good PR by lending out their pachinko palours. We all know that no matter how many "safety response simulations" are put on with all of their cute little vehicles, the J-gov is actually not able to respond capably to any actual major emergency.

Once again we see the highly competent LDP logic in action, when basically saying “children don’t spread Delta”… similar to their SOE in which Delta only becomes infectious after 20:00
