Yes, these idiots were totally in the wrong and all of the military people and their families are upset with them. However, let me say, that when an American woman was raped by an Okinawan, this much to-do was not made. Also, the young Japanese man who stabbed an American "friend" here in Okinawa just got his sentence of 8 years, probably out in 5. Things aren't quite balanced.

It seems strange that the rape case is continually brought up yet no one mentions the American high school student who was murdered in November by a Japanese man/teenager over a girlfriend. I have not met any Okinawans who seem to be unhappy with us Americans. Our real estate agent told us that the protesters here are mostly mainlanders who are paid to come protest.

I don't know about blue lights, if they help, great. The best thing is to have hope for the future and to know that no matter how bad things seem right now, they won't stay that way.
