Posted in: Confessions & Confusions: Raising dual culture children See in context

I raise my two daughters both in a Dutch way and Japnese, kids pick up languages very fast and they seem to do alright in school and at home with my wife since I learned most about kids from my mother also the in laws are also always ready to pitch in when needed.

I want to share all the wonderful things of my homeland with my kids even if some consider that bad.

When I first arrived in Japan my work provided me with company housing so I did not experience these horror stories but the people working under me did experience this sometimes indeed from the abusive boyfriend/husband to loud music players to Yakuza types making noise to wich I could scarcely believe my ears.

You cant really stop multiculturism and diveristy it happens over time and with the world becoming smaller due to technology its going at a rapid rate wich is in no way a bad thing, preserving your national identity is ok but not at the expense of others or intolerance of other people's way of life thats why we need to keep religion out of goverment.

Right. The iraq war had nothing to do with it.

The Iraq war happend what they did with it is entirely on their own same for Egypt and co

no just plain good old fashioned American intervention. Nothing more.

Granted the US only escalated the situation further with its support of ISIS and the "moderate" Rebels

Then why is the military there now?

The only Nato armies there are US led Coalation (big schocker) and France and last time i checked France wasnt the entire EU.

What help? We didn't help them. We threw them to the dogs. And when they came begging for help, we put them in concentration camp

Most of them spend time in Refugee centers to be vetted if they can apply for asylum wich is standard in the EU and most are outfitted to handle people living there or else UN human rights groups would be all over that granted I cant speak for other nations since the EU isnt one country everyone handles it in their own way.

Isn't that exactly what Europe did in response to the Syrian Crisis?

Considering the Syrian Crisis was of their own making or if you believe Arab spring was a CIA conspiracy it wasnt really our problem to begin with and the Syrians (if they are Syrians at all mind you) should be thankful for the help they recieved wich they are.

but barriers are still put up to the outside world in sectors like agriculture.

Wich is good because there is no real need to introduce new products in a already saturated and subsidised market with products that dont meet the quality standards of EU regulations.

Live rounds would do the trick.

Live rounds isnt really the awnser here that makes you no better than the places that a few try to flee but most of them are ecnomic migrants who have no business bieing in Europe in the first place, no m3m3m3 has the right awsner here rushing the border give you an automatic NO stamp on your asylum form there are plenty of refugee camps where most of the single young men can stay at.

you need to stop suspecting Muslims collectively for every little problem

Even tough they are over represented in crime statistics but what ever.

EU isnt one country on its own its a collection of countries working together please keep the whole united under one roof out of this because its never going to happen. the political pendulum swinging in another direction sadly the current "left" is too busy talking down to people instead of talking with them.

The Kurds will probably get the short end of the stick here, and America, their erstwhile ally, will do nothing about it.

They will probably deny any involvment wich is really sad since the Kurds are really the only good guys in the region.
