I’ve got a great idea on how to stop the spread of COVID; stop the campaign. It’s just madness.

please, please PLEASE do not come to Okinawa.

I live here on Okinawa (not military affiliated), and its pretty shocking to see how this pandemic is being dealt with.

In regards to military personnel , I’ve heard of some locals complain about the amount of Y plates at beaches during the “lockdown”. I found most Americans adhered to rules.

Living in Chatan, I see Americans out and about every day and I would say 99% use masks, keep distance and respect mine. The problem I have is with allowing movement between bases and between America and here. Many people live off-base and go to and fro daily for work. I mean, my girl goes to school with heaps of American children.

Tourists are also a danger to us right now. These last couple of days there has been a significantly noticeable increase of tourists from the mainland.

If Tamaki could remind some locals that we are in a pandemic I’d be grateful. On more than one occasion I’ve had to step my kid and I away from some lady huddling right up to us in the shopping line. Navigating around whole families letting their young kids run around touching everything, maskless, old guys hacking their guts up in public spaces ...ugh

the whole thing is just...ugh.
