Man arrested for assaulting woman in hotel hallway

Police in Matsue, Osaka Prefecture, have arrested a 30-year-old man on suspicion of assaulting a woman whom he was dating by punching her multiple times in the face and kicking her in the chest, in a hotel lobby.

According to police, the incident occurred at around 2 p.m. on Thursday. TBS reported that the man, who is a company employee from Sakai City, Osaka Prefecture, and the woman had been staying at the hotel when they got into an argument.

When the man started assaulting the woman, she pulled the fire alarm in the hallway. Hotel staff rushed up the floor and called police.

The man fled from the hotel but was arrested at around 4 p.m. 

Police said the woman suffered facial bruises.
