51-year-old woman arrested for punching 2 sisters at Sapporo shopping mall

Police in Sapporo said Monday they have arrested a 51-year-old woman on suspicion of assault after she punched two sisters aged 23 and 12, while they were shopping with their mother.

The incident occurred at around 3 p.m. Sunday at a shopping mall in Atsubetsu Ward, NTV reported.

Police said the woman, of unknown occupation, suddenly punched both sisters in the face several times before she was subdued by other shoppers until security guards arrived.

According to police, the woman and the sisters did not know each other, and there was no contact between them before the incident.

Police said the woman has remained silent since her arrest.
