Police in Kawaguchi City, Saitama Prefecture, have arrested a 38-year-old police inspector on suspicion of indecent assault after he allegedly groped a woman in her 20s in September.

According to police, Takashi Nobori, who is assigned to the Tokyo Metropolitan Police Department's Otsuka Police Station Community Affairs Division, is accused of groping the woman whom he did not know at around 11:45 p.m. on Sept 14, Sankei Shimbun reported.

The woman broke free and called 110 to report that "a man approached me from behind and groped me."

Police said Nobori was identified from security camera footage. He has denied the allegation, police said and quoted him as saying he doesn't remember the incident.

Toru Hatano, counselor of the Metropolitan Police Department's Police Affairs Department, commented, "We will take strict action based on the results of the investigation."

The animal under the uniform of any profession cannot be hidden or tamed by education, social norms, or threat of punishment, sooner or later, depending on external and internal circumstances, it will show its real nature.

Note: The American Museum of Natural History and many academic institutions, such as those involved in biological and anthropological research, also classify humans as animals based on our biological characteristics and evolutionary history.
