The Sapporo District Public Prosecutors Office has sent a 15-year-old boy who was arrested on suspicion of killing his 40-year-old mother to the Sapporo Family Court. He will remain detained until Nov 10.

The boy called 110 at around 10:20 a.m. on Oct 7 and said he had killed his mother, Sankei Shimbun reported. Police rushed to the apartment in Shiroishi Ward and found the boy’s mother unconscious and not breathing. She was taken to hospital where she was confirmed dead.

Police said the boy told them he choked his mother to death, but has so far given no motive other than to say he didn’t like his mother. The two lived alone.

According to police and related parties, the boy had been living with his father and started living with his mother and sister at the beginning of this year. During the summer, the child consultation center intervened after he had an argument with his mother, and was providing continuous support.

And again. That's what... ten family murders in less than two days time? Even for Japan, where this happens DAILY, it's getting out of control. Ah, well, I guess in the case of the man beating his four-month-old baby near to death the baby is still alive, so maybe it's only nine or so. The worst part is that this kid who killed his mom will be out on the street again in no time given the laws here babying young adults as "children".
