Good to see that Kako is not afraid to get her hands dirty and do manual labor to help plant a tree. My favorite royal by far.

You know that emperor and the empress, have a long legacy in agriculture, from planting to harvesting rice and other vegetables, as well as rasing of birds (domestic and wild).
The Akishinomiya house also have yearly activities related to agriculture and environmental protection.

The tree was planted by gardeners, which is always the case, but followed by a ceremony of shoveling some soil and watering the tree. The article does not say what type of tree. Maybe a cherry. Princess Kako of Akishino.

I would love to read more about the selection of her fashion on these trip. She dons multiple amazing outfits daily! She must have weeks of fittings before her travels.
Do we taxpayers pay for that? Or are the outfits donated by large fashion designers?
