So finally there'll be some compromise in way things being done in Japan?

Japan's voters could end more than a decade of Liberal Democratic Party dominance on Sunday, forcing the ruling party into power-sharing deals that could undermine the country's leadership.

If only....

the centre-left CDPJ could try to cobble together an administration from a patchwork of opposition parties.

this strategy will not work if that patchwork does not have a shared group of ideas. It will lead to more infighting, and cause any opposition to the LDP to crumble. And with that idiot Noda at the helm, I am not optimistic at all. I thought Edano was a much better leader

Yes!

I'm not sure why Kishida is in the picture. Also, the two security guys don't seem to be doing much to keep him safe.

One option for Ishiba could be to reinstate lawmakers ousted from the LDP over the scandal who run as independents in constituencies where the party is not fielding candidates.

"Several of those questionable candidates are expected to win, and by officially endorsing them, the LDP might narrowly secure a single-party majority," said Tadashi Mori, a political science professor at Aichi Gakuin University.

This is. big part of the problem - enough important people in these lawmakers' constituencies feel that they're still going to get their backs scratched if they keep supporting them, and they care less about parties than local politicians' personal 'brands.' Presumably the opposition parties realise these questionable candidates are hard to beat so they won't waste funds on candidates to run against them.

They are already in a power-sharing deal with Komeito.

It would be a miracle…

Hold your breath time?

Could the J people electorate at least temporarily pull the plug on continuous LDP ruling government?

Or deliver a sound pollical kick up the jacksy

Former Prime Minister Fumio Kishida grin smile, almost ear to ear, says it all, "nothing to do with me"

A little warning guys, there was another recent election c 140W of you recently creating a long-awaited change in leadership party, woe and behold newly elected party seniors were straight into the personal sponsorhip system whilst announcing tax rises , without revealing who would pay more, maybe the devil you know is a little more predicable if moderated correctly. Your choice, I do not vote in either election

Former PM Kishida victimized over 100 thousand social vulnerables and abandoned Noto peninsula where strong quake and tsunami hit.

He hasn't taken its responsibility of political negligence at all, but he can smile to camera unlike victim or bereaved family.
