Bruce Springsteen backs Kamala Harris in latest celebrity endorsement

Rocker Bruce Springsteen has endorsed Democratic presidential candidate Kamala Harris for the Nov 5 election, becoming the latest celebrity to back the U.S. vice president against Republican former President Donald Trump.

Harris has already been endorsed by some big Hollywood names and celebrities, ranging from actress Meryl Streep to comedian Chris Rock and former talk show host Oprah Winfrey. Last month, pop megastar Taylor Swift endorsed Harris.

"Donald Trump is the most dangerous candidate for president in my lifetime," the "Born in the U.S.A." and "Born to Run" singer said on Instagram.

"On the other hand, Kamala Harris and Tim Walz are committed to a vision of this country that respects and includes everyone, regardless of class, religion, race, your political point of view or sexual identity," Springsteen said, naming Harris' running mate, the governor of Minnesota. "And they want to grow our economy in a way that benefits all, not just a few - like me - on top," he added.

The New Jersey native, nicknamed "The Boss", has picked up 20 Grammy awards and an Oscar. He was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1999.

Springsteen, 75, has long been an outspoken supporter of Democratic politics, campaigning for former President Barack Obama and backing then-Democratic candidate Hillary Clinton in the 2016 election.

Many Hollywood actors, producers and filmmakers have said they viewed Harris, a native Californian, as their hometown candidate in the race against Trump, which polls show to be tight.

In some Democratic circles, there has been concern that too many celebrity supporters could fuel a backlash. Some felt Hillary Clinton, who lost the 2016 election to Trump, created an image of elitism with a long parade of stars campaigning for her.

Did you watch ‘The Apprentice’ and think “this billionaire understands the real issues and struggles of ordinary people, he’d make a fine President”?

Yeah, the right has been begging Kid Rock and Hulk Hogan to speak for Trump. How would those billionaires understand the people?

Kamala worked at McDonalds.

Boss acknowledges his privilege. He is a real self made billionaire unlike the GOP candidate.

Pure class.

Warren Buffett has said that if he was in charge, he would be paying more taxes.

The rich are under taxed.

> Kamala worked at McDonalds.

If she knew difficulties of normal people why she was singing Indian songs and laughing like doll for the last three almost 4 years in the white house???????????? as the decision maker??? Biden was a joke and so do Kamala... Both made this nation like this...

There are over 40 billionaires supporting Kamala now and they were supporting Biden until she was replaced... Like a robot ...

The list is available...

Why they support Kamala?????? They know soon they can become TRILLIONAIERS if she is president.... So they will have more Mc. Donald workers to run the nation.

Kamala's Parents were university professors .. Why she has to work 8 hours in a Mc. Donald to feed her family????????

I think her capacity is to work in Mc Donald not as President of USA.. People should realize own capacity before applying for the job. Simple logic..

Yes, in spite of the fact that trump would give them tax benefits and kamala will tas them more. Because they know trump is garbage as a human being and fit for jail, not the presidency.

Kamala's Parents were university professors

Clearly good parents who instilled a work ethic in her that drove her to work at McDonald’s.

I think Americans can relate to a person whose parents where teachers.

Warren Buffett?!

The case against Buffett

ProPublica analyzed leaked copies of Buffett's tax returns between 2014 and 2018, and found the Berkshire Hathaway CEO paid just $24 million in federal income taxes on $125 million of reported income. The non-profit publication emphasized how little tax he paid by pointing out that his net worth grew by an estimated $24 billion in that five-year period.

"No one among the 25 wealthiest avoided as much tax as Buffett, the grandfatherly centibillionaire," ProPublica declared.

I would give Warren Buffett as much credence on progressive democrat policies, as Bruce Springsteen support of Kamala Harris.

Bruce Springsteen is certainly a commercially successful rock legend.

I would happily twitch way to "Dancing in the Dark" to my hearts content, listening to "celebrity" political dogma I will always pass.

Kamala's Parents were university professors .. Why she has to work 8 hours in a Mc. Donald to feed her family????????

It was a summer job during college.

Maybe her parents, unlike 45’s, felt that independence is better than just leeching off of rich parents.

Is he supporting her or something? Why the bio? What do you think about his comments that if he were in charge he’d tax the rich higher?

Bruce Springsteen backs Kamala Harris in latest celebrity endorsement

I will never attend a Bruce Springsteen concert again, and I will never listen to his music.

Warren Buffett has said that if he was in charge, he would be paying more taxes.

False; he never said that.

The rich are under taxed.

Warren Buffet:s company paid over $5 billion in taxes in one year.

These articulate celebrities are just like every other U.S. citizen: They have just one vote. But they also have a voice and are free to express their opinions to a larger audience than most of us have. It’s that freedom of speech thing you may have heard about.

I don’t think they really influence how most people vote, but I believe by talking about candidates and elections they get people thinking and help get more people registered and involved in the political process.

That will teach him a lesson!

I wasn't having a pop at you or your comment Strangerland.

I recently read an article about speculation that Kamala Harris could be taking "advice" from the master investment guru.

Has Kamala Harris Been Taking Investment Advice From Warren Buffett?

https://www.nasdaq.com/articles/has-kamala-harris-been-taking-investment-advice-warren-buffett

I haven't read that Warren Buffett has endorsed Harris.

However Warren Buffet has stated quote more than 99% of my wealth will go to philanthropy during my lifetime or at death. I thought this gesture gave a hint of a more progressive social conscience in Buffett's twilight years.

I sincerely believe that voters can make up there own minds, I only wish the "celebrity" activist "politicians" would accept this suggestion.

He's filthy rich. He hasn't felt the pinch of the working class he postures to be a hero of

Warren Buffet:s company paid over $5 billion in taxes in one year.

And he is of the belief that relative to what they bring in, that taxation rate is too low. If he were in charge he would raise taxes on the rich.

I will never attend a Bruce Springsteen concert again, and I will never listen to his music.

Clearly losing MAGA followers means as little to him as it should.

They are useless.

The hypocrisy of maga is bottomless.

”Celebrities should stay out of politics (except the one I voted for)”

”Mail in voting is wrong (except when I do it)”

”Rich people can’t understand the working class (except me, I’m rich. Oh and the guy with a gold building I voted for)”

The hypocrisy of maga is bottomless.

Indeed...."Chachi endorsed Trump....Yay!!!!!!!" Or maybe "Reeeeee!"....

Taylor Swift and Bruce Springsteen endorsed Harris - "How dare they tell us how to vote!"....

Yah, you're wrong, surprise,surprise.

https://abcnews.go.com/blogs/business/2012/01/warren-buffett-and-his-secretary-talk-taxes

billionaire investor Warren Buffett jumped back into the political debate and showed his returns exclusively to ABC News' Bianna Golodryga, adding, "I have never had it so good. … What has happened in recent years, we were told a rising tide would lift all boats, but the rising tide has lifted all yachts."

Buffett's secretary since 1993, Debbie Bosanek, sat next to her boss just hours after being invited by the president to the State of the Union address, where the president made her the face of tax inequality in America.

Bosanek pays a tax rate of 35.8 percent of income, while Buffett pays a rate at 17.4 percent.

"I just feel like an average citizen. I represent the average citizen who needs a voice," said Bosanek. "Everybody in our office is paying a higher tax rate than Warren."
