Police in Hachinohe City, Aomori Prefecture, have arrested a 51-year-old man on suspicion of sending 90 threatening short email messages to a woman in her 30s over an eight-hour period.
According to police, Narumi Tanabe is accused of sending the emails to the woman between 10:20 p.m. on Jan 6 and around 6:30 a.m. the following morning, Aomori Broadcasting reported. A relative of the woman contacted the police.
Police said Tanabe is an acquaintance of the woman and has admitted sending the emails.
Police did not say if Tanabe told them why he sent the threatening messages.
