Man arrested for stalking woman, posting slanderous comments and secretly filmed images online

Chiba Prefectural Police have arrested a 24-year-old unemployed man on suspicion of violating the Stalking Prevention Act by posting multiple slanderous comments about a former colleague, a woman in her 20s, on a social networking site.

According to police, Mizuki Hara, who lives in Narita City, Chiba Prefecture, is accused of posting the comments and images of the woman at work on social media between December 7, 2024 and April 11 this year, Sankei Shimbun reported.

In late March, the woman consulted the police, saying, "I was receiving messages saying 'You're cute' and obscene images from multiple email addresses that I don't recognize."

Hara posted defamatory comments against the woman six times in total, but did not send any emails. It is believed that another man who saw Hara's posts sent multiple emails to the woman, and police are also questioning him.

I wonder if he's currently unemployed because of being fired from the job where they were colleagues? Perhaps he was harassing her there, and she complained? Or, maybe he just thinks she was responsible? Or, maybe he's just a general creep, and it's totally unrelated.

As is often the case, this article causes questions that will most likely never see any answers.

I asked myself the same question. This article is poorly written. Not clear who was writing whatever.

Anyway, as a man you are better off to refrain from any private contact with female co-workers.

It is not worth the risk if something is going wrong. You might find yourself in big trouble or at least facing scornful laughter from other co-workers if the woman does not want you.

the woman consulted the police, saying, "I was receiving messages saying 'You're cute'

How are such messages be slanderous or defamatory? Sounds more to be a compliment.

It's quite clear. The ex-co-worker posted slanderous and defamatory content and images of the woman. One or more people sent her emails after seeing the content.

They aren't. They were sent by other(s) who saw the content. However, they might be considered harassment, which is why another man who sent at least some of the emails is being questioned.

He's being questioned. So, not necessarily. There also may be more than one emailer, as there were multiple emails from more than on address.

They should make a new subject in (JHS/SHS/UNI) schools.

How NOT to be weird, a creep or a stalker.

Make it mandatory for all males.

The regular dudes SHOULD cruise and finish easily.
