illsayit what is wrong with these athletes showing their support? I think it is a lovely gesture of goodwill.

@illsayit -- I don't understand what your fuss is about. Does their thanking those who have helped Japan offend you in some way?

Everyone must remember that "words have meaning." The meaning of "sorry but Im finding this to be just another charitable cause to add to your resume kind of thing of late" may be interpreted as a derogitory comment about the sacrafice many people in many countries have made for Japan. Be careful. Everyone in the world is not pessimistic.

of course I didnt mean anybody or group individually, but from here in Japan, being optimistic here, can at times on a local scale seem as I said. that's why I said sorry, because on an international scale I spose the help is appreciated, but locally, cant help but see the brownie points registering more than the charity....in case you didnt get what I meant.

What did the above say? Words have meaning, and grammar is important. What?

I thought that this was a great picture and a great way to say thank you.

illsayit, I didn't get what you meant....again.

illsayit

did you understand that this picture is about the story of Japanese in the UK that want to say thanks to their fellow UK people for their charity and emotional support? It also passes on a message back to people in Japan..

I should add its quite a common theme that Japanese in the Uk at least want to show their thanks to fellow people in the UK that have helped directly or just even simply asked how its going or shown empathy. The London marathon is a charity event so quite a good place to get your message across.

Very nice photo, and everyone in bright red, except for one in blue. Great sentiment and it looks like they went to a lot of trouble to make that sign. Well done.
