Posted in: 82-year-old woman arrested for strangling husband to death See in context

She was probably verbally abused and treated like a servant, property for decades. I that case I would understand why she did it.

The facts, as they are presented in the article, are that the couple frequently had arguments, that she physically abused her husband, and that she strangulated him.

Your hypothesis is no more than conjecture, and likely a result of projection.

The introduction of ads always creates a bias, and takes away from the integrity and intent of the original search — turning a tool for discovery into a platform for persuasion.

Looks like the police share Wesley's (first commenter) opinion. The National Police are going to look into changing rules for changing foreign licenses to Japanese licenses. Below article was posted just 3 hours ago.

But I do like the idea, ie buying an exceptional experience. I hope his maths is good 7ties billion yens, I am not even sure there's enough landing slots into Okinawa...or hotel beds in order to bring visitors to Okinawa.

He's going to need 5000 visitors a day to the park just to pay for the cost of capital.

Half that - 2500 visitors a day - for 350 days a year, each paying 8000 yen (averaged it out) for 10 years with all proceeds going toward paying it off... would pay it off.

But it doesn't account for running costs. Sure, there will be other sales, but... all I can say for certain is: it's not my problem!

Posted in: Japan moves to ban Google, Apple from blocking app store competitors See in context

This is exactly the kind of logic Google and Apple are going to try to use. Except that it's a completely invalid analogy.

You ought to phrase it like this instead: "If I tried to sell my strawberries in the supermarket and charge money for them, I don’t think I should be allowed."

You see where this is going, right? Because that's basically what you are implying.

No, I think if you want to sell your strawberries, you had either provide a wholesale price to a company that is set up to market directly to consumers (sound familiar?)

-OR-

Create your own marketplace where you can sell your strawberries (and anything else you want to sell!) at any price, with no restrictions by aforementioned company. That's what a lot of strawberry growers do - they stabilize their income by balance wholesale accounts (to supermarkets, etc.) with strawberry picking and direct sales for consumers.

Aid to Gaza has been cut off since March 2, a tactic Israel has said is intended to force concessions from Hamas, but the group insisted on Thursday that the restoration of humanitarian assistance to the war-ravaged territory was "the minimum requirement" for talks.

Good. Hamas just keeps it for itself. Hamas is a plague on the occupiers of Gaza.

I just hope the new subsidy system will not be abused by asylum seekers and illegal aliens overstaying their visas.

Different issues. If you're in the country legally, you're on the health program. I'm fine with that.

If you're not here legally, I'm also fine with putting you on a plane and sending you home.
