@Abe234
JD JD JD….. do you realize the U.S. forced Japan to build factories in the U.S. because America was building junk.
Not true. I retired from Toyota and was present during much of the years that they were building the current manufacturing plants and opening design centers in the US. Those decisions were driven by increased profit from building the product at the marketplace.

So, we can only choose (A) you are with us, or (B) you are against us? Is this the official MAGA platform?
All social and political issues are a lot more complicated than this and there are clearly multiple solutions or options to consider or enact as policy.
Please read the article. The topic at hand is about whether Japan wants to side with Iran regarding the air strikes on its nuclear weapons production facilities.

Honest question: how much away from normal was the total rainfall?
Just because the season ended early is not really a good summary of the potential impact. Was the total rainfall amount above, below, normal...?
Seasonal averages, whether they be amounts or durations always have highs, lows, and mid-range numbers. That's why averages are averages.

SCOTUS finally putting a stop to Federal Judge overreach and using their authority for political gain. This problem has been surfaced by both Democrat and Republican Presidents during the last 20 years. A District Judge should not have national reach. Period. Full Stop.
As for the 14 Amendment, most reasonable people understand that when it was written, nobody could have foreseen the way it's being perverted. I understand it takes a Constitutional amendment to change it. Hopefully though, there can be some interim measure to stop the abuse of our system until that can occur.

I’m amazed by how many people here are channeling their rage into cheering for this serial killer’s execution—almost like it gives them a thrill.
But is indulging that bloodlust really worth the risk of executing even one innocent person?
If you think so, then you’re not truly valuing human life—and your supposed concern for the victims starts to look more like performative outrage than genuine empathy.
By that logic, if Toyota for example, has an airbag failure and someone dies, they should never make another automobile.
I say improve the method of trial and conviction and keep the punishment the same.

There can be no "in this case." There is the death penalty or there is not.
Does your state have the death penalty?
Pulled up stats on Wikipedia: 22 murder conviction executions since 1977; 86% white; 14% black; 100% male. Method is lethal injection.
Most recent man to get death sentence in my hometown was convicted of tying his girlfriends two kids (5-10 years old) to their beds and setting the house on fire and left them to burn.
Why? He was angry because she went to work and asked him to stay home with the kids. Imagining the horror those poor babies went through, I'd gladly push the plunger on that lethal injection.

Japan may not be exporting fentanyl, but it sounds like the Chinese have been using it as a back door route for the precursors.

Capital punishment is revenge, not justice. It does not stop others from committing violent crimes like murder.
Wallace, I have no argument with your position on death penalty. That's your belief and I understand and share your concern about wrongful convictions/innocent people.
However, in a case like this where 9 bodies are found and evidence shows he stalked the victims like an animal, this man is no longer a part of the human race. There are criminals who fall outside the bounds of humane treatment. They relinquish that of their own free will.
I'm okay if his killing is revenge on behalf of the dead people and their families. He is even being given years of additional life that his victims do not get.

That's when most people hunt them. Traps are also used. Wild boars can be very aggressive against humans when challenged. 200kg boars are not uncommon.

The story says no proof of bias in the news media. So, is your point that the news reporters write stories based on whether they like or don't like him or his policies? That's not news reporting, that's editorializing.

Yrral, wrong. In the US children have a list of vaccinations required before entry into school, including Measles, Mumps, and Rubella. I worked in a local government health department for 10 yrs. We had two full-time TB investigators and a TB nurse. When a TB case came into any local hospital, the investigators tracked down all potential contacts and they were required by law to be tested. Anyone infected was required by law to come in and take medications until they were cleared.

People siding with CNN's info vs the President of the United States (8-). This is a failed network trying it's best to hold on until it can issue it's last derogatory story about Trump before the electricity gets cut on at it's studios. Please look at yourself in the mirror and have a good long talk about what's real and what's about getting "clicks".
Obama and Biden (well maybe...drool) both knew Iran needed to be stopped, but they kicked the can down the road for fear it would be political suicide to engage them. Obama just let them lie and continue business as usual and unfroze all their assets so they could ramp up. Biden let them import as many sleeper cell terrorists as they could muster.
Finally, a US President willing to address Iranian aggression. Even if it's a brief (historically) pause in the hostilities, it's a positive step.

So tell me—where exactly does Japan exert full sovereign policy independent of American pressure? Name one area. I’ll wait.
Election of leaders. Political structure. Constitution and legal framework. And yes, even diplomatic relations with other countries.
If Japan were a vassal state, would the US be appointing figure head US Ambassadors like Caroline Kennedy? Wouldn't the US have representatives embedded in the Japanese government? Would the educational system not be receiving "guidance" from the US on what the children are taught?
Yes, Japan is influenced by the strong economic and military alliance with the US. That's natural. But Japan has free will and can decide if they support US policy or not.
