You are doing it wrong, Don. You need to engage Congress.
But of course, working with Congress is a bit difficult for Trump. He wants to be King Trump, by the US is a republic, not a monarchy.
Newgirlintown
He’s long talked about ‘draining the swamp’ but when are voters going to realize that he is the swamp.

His Belligerency better back down from his destroy the government approach.

The courts have the final say because they aren't populated by people that can't run a casino. If Trump tries to mess with them, the Supreme Court won't stand for it.
TaiwanIsNotChina
Also remember, law enforcement up and down the country obey courts and not bathroom initiatives from the White House.

Their are thousands of lawyers, know Trump is legally doomed, Trump may not go to.jail, but it will not stop Musk from facing civil contempt by a Federal judge

If the executive branch can not look at the what the executive branch is spending then we have no government.
Funny how no Dems are commenting on what Elon is finding... Just demonizing the audit.

Fantastic photo. An interesting gesture by Musk - the Triangle of Power.
Look at Little X, all dressed up smartly and watching the proceedings over the Resolute Desk - that little young man is clearly future presidential timber.

A payment system is for payments not spending. If Trump wants to know what is being spent and why, he can ask Congress.

He's clearly the most mature person in that picture.

Pick and choose when to respect law enforcement eh?

The US is losing any tiny shred of democracy it had left, day by day.
The photo says it all. An unelected South African billionaire, who is effectively the President's right hand man, lurking in the oval office - unanswerable to the public and most likely undismissable after the hundreds of millions of dollars he has paid for the privilege.
Sad to see the rapid decline. China is the biggest beneficiary and would be loving this.
bass4funk
The Dems will never look into this, they had 25 year to do so and they didn’t, Musk will march on, expose the corruption and Trump will continue to stop funding or issue more EO and then congress can see what needs to be permanently cut and the Dems and judges know this, it’s our money, every American has a right to know where their tax dollars would go, the SC would never deny the President or the American voter on this issue in the end.

"Department of Government Efficiency" (DOGE) has a clear and valuable role to play, long overdue.
Needs to be lead by elected mandated political body of professionals. At the very top an elected member of congress/senate.

How much more does it take until even the most stupid ones understand that Donald is constructing a Germany 1933 Ver 2.0?
He goes after the opposition (fact), he goes after the free press (fact), he wants to annex foreign countries (fact), he puts those in charge who obey just him (fact), he disregards the legal system (fact), he spreads lies (fact), he isolates the US more and more (fact), he wants to deport thousands not just in his country (fact), he instigates, incites, and insults, ...... do I really have to continue?
Everything pointing in the "right direction"!

As long as Trump has his followers kiss the ring and they swear fealty to him, he won't bother with them. But as soon as they point out facts to him, that go against his own beliefs, then he'll brand you as being "too political" and having an agenda against him.
Every president before Trump understood that it takes hard work and diplomacy to lobby, talk with their constituents, raise interests in their policies, etc. Trump doesn't want to do that work. He thinks it's so simple to just come up with any idea that comes into his brain, no matter how ludicrous it may be, and automatically push it on the American people and that everyone will love him for it.
Take for instance attending the SuperBowl. Do you know why there has never been a sitting president attend such an event? It's because it's expensive. I don't want to even think how much of the taxpayers' money was spent on 20 minutes of attending a game, and the trouble it caused. Imagine the backlash if other past presidents wasted money in such a way.

funny how no Democrats are saying a word about what Elon is finding....
In the end US citizens fully support this government audit and the executive branch has every right to look at what the government is spending on.

Republicans: Who cares?! Now let Elon give himself more government contracts while China's influence grows in the rest of the world. MAGA!!!

Yes, they have a right, as long as they follow the proper procedures. Neither Musk or any of the people who work for his organization (which by the way, was never approved), has gone through the proper training and background checks that are necessary for any employee of the federal government. In order to handle personal and sensitive information, such as SSN, bank accounts, etc., everyone needs the proper authorization. Even top military personnel like four-star generals need to be formally cleared.
I'veSeenFootage
I think you undercalculated that! It's actually ONE HUNDRED TRILLION of wasted money for trans musicals on the moon! If you're gonna lie, might as well do it correctly.

How about you look into which party has had control of the senate and house of representatives since 2000, go back further if you wish..

Musk, has not been vetted to have access to peoples' private information. Trump, has no education, his degree was bought for by his daddy and he is a crook.

So nowhere near the 70% figure that’s been repeated on here.
By the way, it’s probably best to look at the average of polls rather than cherry picking one you like. Not perfect, but better

Recently watched a speech Trump made from the oval office on Jan. 31st. He said, "We were at our richest from 1870 to 1913. That’s when we were a tariff country, and then they went to an income-tax concept. And, you know, how did that work out? It’s fine, it’s OK, but it would have been very much better".
https://www.c-span.org/program/white-house-event/president-trump-signs-executive-orders/655190
So, if he believes that America was great then and he wants to make it great again, is he really suggesting to take us back to the situation during that time? Really? I'm sorry, but if we are going to turn back into a 1870's America, then I want no part of it.
kohakuebisu
You gotta pump those numbers up. Those are rookie numbers in this racket.
patkim
Also, Trump is basically saying that the America he grew up in, from the 1960's to the 2000's were not great times. I don't know about you, but I kind of enjoy those times. Had lots of fond memories.
Wasabi
Is the US great yet? Or do you need a little more of this?
patkim
Well, according to Trump, when America goes back to 1870's America when it was a tariff country, then we'll be great again.
Blacklabel

Last 3 polls in the average? 53, 53, 54. Upward trend.
and yes, 70% approved that Trump is doing what he said he would do.
other 30% just mad that he’s actually doing what he said he would do.

Futile! Sorry, the powers of the President and the Constitution will override the courts, they can slow the President to a point, but they can’t stop him, so this will come to pass and why is that, because it’s our money. Simple as that.

Yes.
No dictatorship. He is following the law, if you make that silly argument, then next time when you have a Democrat President the reverse can happen, will Dems be as outraged as they are when they are back in power as they are now? I highly doubt it.
No, the left is just powerless and there is nothing they can do about it except to call names
Dems never questioned theirs as well.

Most of which are simply things you dont believe in or want, and calling waste is incorrect.
As others have pointed out you must engage with Congress who in the end controls the purse of the USA.
Trump, you dont run a country like you do you shifty and failed companies, there are rules and processes designed to keep America from being run by a dictator like you. You dont like that and you will try to turn America into a clone of your shoddy businesses so you can do as you please, whenever you please with no accountability or answering to anyone.
The President of the United State of America works FOR the citizens of that nation. Those citizens do not work for you, they are not your slaves and they have free will and a right to question officials who work for them.
Trying to hide what your doing until its done and cant be stopped is not in the best interests of the people of your country. If there is nothing to hide, then show every stage of your work, and how you came to those conclusions, just like in a math exam. Proof may be required, not just bluster and "genius ideas" that are not genius at all.
Trump, Musk and many others at the top are a disaster for the people of America and the world. Greenland doesnt want you, Panama doesnt want you, Canada doesnt want you and Gaza doesnt want you.
President 47 is an even bigger failure than 45 was, and he was the worst until then.
Jimizo
I see. So not 70% approval.
A bit poorly written. They ‘approved that Trump’ is a bit confusing.
Are you trying to say that 70% agreed that Trump is doing what he said he’d do without necessarily agreeing with the actual policies?
It’s just that some may have been genuinely confused, or perhaps plain dishonest, in posting that the 70% approve of what Trump is doing.
Anyway, cheers. Always good to have a man of the sciences with exacting standards on hand to look at things objectively.
Are you sure about that?
Harry_Gatto
Had he not been an entitled, privileged coward and served his country when required he might feel better about himself.

For anyone wondering what Trump's real, actual agenda is:
Consider the Trump administration’s actions yesterday alone: The president officially pardoned Rod Blagojevich, the former Illinois governor who served eight years in prison for corruption, and his Department of Justice suspended its prosecution of New York Mayor Eric Adams for allegedly soliciting bribes from Turkey, despite extremely compelling evidence. (Adams has denied the allegations.) Trump fired the director of the Office of Government Ethics, the chief official making sure government employees comply with ethics requirements, including those concerning conflicts of interest. And he directed the Justice Department to cease enforcing the Foreign Corrupt Practices Act, which prevents American businesses from bribing foreign officials.
Not bad for a day’s work—but Trump wasn’t done. Today, the administration told The New York Times that Elon Musk’s financial disclosures would not be made public, allowing the shadow president to direct vast swaths of government policy with enormous stakes for his personal fortune without the public knowing the precise areas of overlap.
Working really hard to make bribery legal. All indefensible stuff really, but hey, that won't stop his fans from deflecting and whatabouting.
Blacklabel
Tough, energetic, focused and effective were the words used.
Blacklabel
“Many say he's doing more than they expected — and of those who say this, most like what they see. Very few think he's doing less.”
sounds great doesn’t it?
patkim
Yeah, ethnically cleaning the Palestinians, stealing American's personal information, renaming a piece of water, making Canada the 51st state, taking the money he cuts from federal organizations and placing it directly into his and his friends' own pockets, is going to make America great again, and make Americans love themselves.
Luckily, I live in Japan now and don't have to pay 10 bucks for a dozen eggs (only about 200 yen for ten in Japan), or extra money to DHL just to get my package through customs. Heck, even the McDonald's here is cheaper than back in the States.
plasticmonkey
So the President can just override even the Supreme Court if the President believes the Constitution is violated, in disagreement with SCOTUS.
What you're arguing for is absolute dictatorship.
bass4funk
53% for a Republican, that’s gold.
More or less, it’s the libs that are mostly contesting the move, wonder why…..
But still overall, they do, if they didn’t you would see more political pushback, but so far only the usual typical big-mouth lib bunch are howling, just incoherent these people.
