Hasn't he served long enough?

His face was uncovered, unlike most of the other voters who were offered free masks at the entrance.

Like Trump, Putin believes the 'elite' don't wear masks; masks are for the serfs. And like Trump he has ready access to the best healthcare his country can provide, unlike most of his nation's peoples.

That such a large percent of Russians voted for extending Putin's reign reinforces the notion Russians prefer authoritarian systems. Russia's system is one of national socialism where the state controls the main portions of the economy and the 'elite' loyal to the leader have the greatest wealth and power. It's a variation on China's authoritarian capitalism and the political-economic beliefs of the alt right pushing to undermine democracies.

Circus ! That's exactly what this is.

Poor Russia! Gullible is as gullible does! The Kremlin's freshly crowned wannabe emperor can now expect to get his first congratulatory call from his vassal, "dead man golfing".

Sounds to me that the new Age of Enlightenment has not yet reached Russia and probably never will. What kind of population can be this kind of masochist to support authoritarians after authoritarians after authoritarians without ever thinking of something different to break the cycle?

Well at Russians get a vote. Unlike people in China and Hong Kong......

Putin is a joke. A silly joke.

If you think for a moment Russians vote counts I have a cup of glowing tea to wake you up. Although don't think I can give it to someone in a Siberian Labour camp.

Putin should just do what China did and serve for life, that would be a whole lot easier than this charade acting as if people love and support him. Putin will never leaves office until his head hits the mic.

Putin wins in a landslide! How surprising is that?

Russian ballot:

2020 Election

0 - Putin

Fill in circle completely.

Do not leave ballot blank.

We know where you live.

Putin agrees to let Putin seek 2 more terms.

The Russians deserve Putin.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Just a PR stunt from a Putin dictatorship. Also a practice run for his sham elections to come. It should be considered an illegitimate outcome and Russia leaderless

1 ( +5 / -4 )

Say what you want about Putin, he is far more intelligent than Trump and more 'with-it' than Biden.

-2 ( +4 / -6 )

Good news. Putin is good for Russia. Russia has always had strong, autocratic leaders. Look back to the nineties to see what happens when you have the alternative.

And so there you have it , chy-na taking over territories by force, putin taking the govt by pen and the US elections being taken over by corrupt democrat tactics.

Name one world leader at the moment who is honestly worthy of office , I bet you cant.

The Russian dictator won the election. In other news, the Sun came up in the East, and went down in the West.

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Mr.Putin dedicated to get back those lost lands of the Soviet Union, including Ukraine,Georgia and the three Baltic states, thats why many Russians support him!

2 ( +5 / -3 )

Russia and China fit together, both under dictators, but China regime is much more horrific and dangerous. Human life means nothing for them C

NZ changed its voting system to avoid things like this, avoid even a two party race. For Putin or Xi who want to be the boss until death, think they both have issues. If you are supper rich as they are, couldn't they retire? Buy an island? ,but no they need power adulation to feel worthy? They are as most politians worthy of pity rather than aware.

That is one of the biggest loads of rubbish I have ever read; Yeltsin was not that different from Putin. Boris Yeltsin successfully launched a self-coup in 1993, illegally dissolving the Russian pariament. If anything, it's the Russian people who severely lack a spine to force change.

If Russia is despicable for anti-democracy, then the "West" should blames their own for causing this! Western countries obbessed to humilate backward countries by all means, the people of those countries understood this, thats why they goes for 'Strongmen leadership" or the dictators! When the Soviet Union fall, the power of Moscow were in thand hands of Boris Yeltsin, who was that man? A corrupted and a drunken leader who just know holding his power! The west  didnt help Russia out of poverty instead causing them more pain and hardships over the Russians! It is Mr.Putin endured those pain and hardships leading Russia back to track again, thats why the Russians have much grateful to this man! The west should blame their own "Idiotic Policy" rather than others!

I wasn't talking about Yeltsin. I was talking about the run of ineffective, short-term leaders they had until Putin came along. Guys like Viktor Chernomyrdin, Sergey Kiriyenko, Yevgeny Primakov, Sergei Stepashin etc.. If you want to debate me on Russian politics and history, something I have a degree in, let's do it.

“Those who vote decide nothing. Those who count the vote decide everything.”

― Joseph Stalin

It is not entirely sure that this is a true quote from Stalin, but it is certainly a true sentiment.

The people of Russia are richer than ever in history have the highest standard of living in Russian history, really low dept loads and social ills like alcoholism have dropped dramatically as poverty and despair have evaporated. Regardless of what we think of Putin in the west, when every pot has a chicken, it is a winner on whatever people are voting on.

Also, there are reports that Canada tried to interfere in the election by having their ambassador tell people to vote against making same sex marriage legal. A foreign government trying to intervene may have pushed voters to vote exactly the other way to spite the foreign interference.

Is he dead yet? Then, in his eyes, he hasn't.

More like a dangerous, megalomaniacal joke.

Perhaps he can rule long after his death $ a white, very short, Russian version of Bob Mugabe...

Not really. They can vote in the local elections and the elected eventually choose Xi.

We choose the leaders who vote in Abe but we can’t vote directly for Abe.

Spot on. And it's exactly the main reason why Putin-bashers here are so upset. They would perefer Russia to be like it was immediately after the end of the Cold War. Putin did exellent job in rebuilding his country, and the Russian people are grateful for that.

It's so funny when Western politicians began to lament "lack of democracy" in Russia. They'd better to lecture on democracy Saudi's prince Mohammed "hacksaw" bin Salman when he visits Washington and London to see his faithful friends.

Hah, someone who believes the Russian propaganda.

Next they'll be telling us that the CCP speaks the truth.
